The Great Island of Dogs

September 26, 2015June 16, 2018Categories Travel1 Comment on The Great Island of Dogs

Las Islas Canarias, Spanish islands off the tip of Morocco, are a dream destination for us food-lovers and sun worshippers. Gran Canaria, the third largest of the islands, not only has a wonderful ring to its name but is also named after man’s best friend – the Dog. No wonder I love the place, though…

One of the highlights of the trip to Philadelphia was a tour of the Barnes Foundation, followed by this “fall-inspired” lunch. We’re talking candied butternut panzanella, creamy pumpkin polenta with pecorino and fried sage (the dream), grilled sea bass with saffron potatoes, olives, chorizo and crispy aubergine (swipe to the left), and sublime butterscotch pots with caramelised pears and toasted walnuts. I was also *this* close to pocketing that hammered gold cutlery 🍴 @barnesfoundation
